Here's a video showing how I train young society finches to "step up" on my hands and fingers. It is best to train them just as they are fledging; however, older birds can learn this, too....it just takes a lot of patience. ;)

Here is Jackie, a crested chocolate saddleback society finch, feeding some of her chicks. Quizzical is the father. Jackie laid 7 eggs during Christmas 2013. All 7 hatched early in January 2014. The chicks are about 2 weeks old in this video.

Just a quick, unrehearsed video documenting the last quest from the Lil' Birds game. The game server is being shut down at the end of November 2013 due to technical issues with the new iOS 7. What a shame. :( Hopefully the game will return somewhere down the road. Thanks to everyone who friended me, fed my birds, and sent gifts. It's been fun!

Here are the two baby Zebra Finches I am training. As you can see, they are very calm. They were raised by foster parents, and I have been handling daily since they hatched. Here are Snowflake and Isis, two society finches, feeding their foster kids. The Zebra Finch parents abandoned their eggs early on, so these two birds took over in their own nest. They did a great job!

Lemon is a lutino pearl cockatiel. She knows how to poop on command, though it's more like through the power of suggestion when she has to go. :) She also likes to raise her foot in the air when she wants to come out of the cage. As an added bonus, you get to see "Pretty Birdy" (wing stretch) and "Whoaaa!" (wings in the air).

I taught Lemon how to drink out of a water bottle. Figaro loves her to death. This is the first time he whistled at her on top of the cage as she drank. =)

Figaro gives thanks on Thanksgiving!
